St Luke’s Church, Maidstone – Hall & Foyer Refurbishment

Project Type: Electrical Installation, Lighting & Fire Alarm Upgrade

Before Refurbishment

Before work began, the church hall and foyer were served by an ageing electrical system that no longer met modern standards. The lighting was dim and inefficient, emergency lighting was limited, and there was limited integrated fire alarm and detection system in place.

The church team wanted to create a safer, brighter and more energy-efficient environment that could better support community events and daily activities, while ensuring full compliance with current electrical and fire safety regulations.

Project Overview

ETE Electrical Contractors were appointed to deliver a comprehensive electrical installation and fire alarm upgrade as part of the refurbishment of the church hall and foyer at St Luke’s Church, Maidstone.

The works formed a key stage in the church’s wider redevelopment programme, designed to create a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for services, events, and community activities.

Scope of Works

Full rewiring and power distribution replacement

Installation of energy-efficient LED lighting throughout hall, new toilets and foyer

New emergency lighting system (BS 5266 compliant)

Full fire alarm system installation with detectors, manual call points, and control panel.

Fire alarm system ready for extending into Grade II-listed church

Foyer

The completed installation transformed the hall and foyer into a modern, safe and energy-efficient community space.

The new LED lighting system enhances both visibility and ambience, while the fire alarm installation ensures full compliance and protection for all users.

ETE Electrical Contractors worked closely with the main contractors and church project team to ensure seamless coordination, high-quality workmanship, and minimal disruption throughout the refurbishment, future-proofing the church for many years of use.
